With laboratory wiped film and short path distillation units, reliable conclusions about the feasibility of a distillation process can be made by using only small product amounts. The set-up and design of our lab units is based on many years of experience gained in our own test center. The key components in lab scale systems are fabricated in borosilicate glass. This enables observation of product properties like foaming, fouling and film distribution on the heated shell during distillation.
VTA GmbH & Co. KG3.0H60VTA is a manufacturer of wiped film and short path evaporators and plants with sizes from laboratory, pilot until large production scale. For many products the evaporation technology is key for achieving sufficient product quality at decent yields. The fields of application and industries are diverse and require highly specific solutions. On wiped film and short path distillation systems operating pressures down to 0,001 mbar and temperatures up to 350°C can be achieved. Furthermore, products with viscosities of more than 100.000 mPas and melting points of more than 200°C can be handled. VTA has on its headquarters in Niederwinkling (Bavaria), Germany, own equipment for wiped film and short path distillation available to perform contract manufacturing for customers. This toll distillation is performed for campaign sizes starting with some kg up to several hundred metric tons.
