Bacillus coagulans

Bacillus coagulans is a gram-positive, spore-forming bacterium with probiotic properties.  B. coagulans has been recognized as safe by regulatory bodies like the US FDA and the European Union for human consumption.  It is commonly used in veterinary applications and as a probiotic in livestock production, showing effectiveness in improving abdominal pain, bloating, and immune response in animals.  In humans, it has shown promise in alleviating symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), constipation, and diarrhea.  Studies suggest that B. coagulans may have benefits in treating conditions like Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea.
