Upcycled Food AssociationThe Upcycled Food Association (UFA) is a global membership-based nonprofit trade association that exists to accelerate the upcycled food economy by unleashing innovation to stop food waste. UFA supports and champions the pioneers advancing upcycling, a pivotal solution to address the climate crisis. Whether connecting worldwide food scientists and scholars to advance research through the work of the Upcycled Food Foundation (UFF), being a voice to grow public awareness through Upcycled Food Month each June, or helping members across 14 countries collaborate, UFA and UFF are the hub of the upcycled movement. Founded in 2019, UFA began by defining upcycled foods, developed and launched global Upcycled Certification (now owned by Where Food Comes From) and works with members and stakeholders spanning businesses and organizations of all sizes, whether they have an established upcycled product or ingredient or if they are exploring where to begin. UFA propels innovation by providing resources and sharing best practices, helping connect surplus ingredients and byproducts supply and demand, and promoting collaboration across our membership and the broader food system. Through research, strategy, networking, and policy advocacy, Upcycled Food Association and Upcycled Food Foundation are building a food system in which all food is elevated to its highest and best use. Visit with UFA representatives in the Community Hub and join a Lunch & Learn December 3 to learn more.
