Zirkoplex ZPS - Classifier Mill The Zirkoplex ZPS classifier mill is a system for fine and ultrafine grinding of soft to medium-hard materials up to about Mohs 3.5. It combines impact milling and integrated air classification, ensuring precise particle size control, reproducible results, and efficient energy use. Material is fed into the grinding chamber and accelerated by impact beaters against a stationary, ribbed track. The resulting fine material is carried by process air into the built-in Turboplex classifier, where coarse particles are separated and returned for further grinding. The fines that meet the defined cut point are discharged as final product. Depending on configuration and process parameters, the ZPS achieves end-product fineness from below 5 µm to around 200 µm. A high airflow allows cool grinding, making the mill suitable for temperature-sensitive or low-melting products. The easily accessible housing supports fast cleaning and tool changeovers, enabling short downtimes and flexible product handling. The system is available in standard, pressure-compensated, or pressure-shock-resistant designs (up to 10 bar) and can be equipped with CIP/SIP or isolator integration for hygienic or contained processing environments. Typical materials include pigments, resins, waxes, powder coatings, synthetic graphite, and food extrudates. In battery material processing, the ZPS enables fine rounding of graphite, while in food applications it ensures uniform fineness and high throughput.
