Agrain® 05 is a cocoa powder replacement made from 100% upcycled ingredients. Agrain® 05 takes advantage of the sophisticated aroma profile of spent grain in combination with upcycled cacao husks to deliver delicious and authentic tasting notes of dark chocolate in baked goods.
Agrain® 05 is suitable for use as a replacement of 50% of cocoa powder in baked and non-baked applications, including cakes, cookies, brownies, granola, chocolate drinks, ice cream, puddings, and more...

Made from brewer’s spent grain (BSG) containing specialty malt, Agrain® 05 is characterised by intense roasted aromas and nutty tasting notes complemented by a bitterness reminiscent of dark chocolate.
Cacao husks (cocoa bean shells) from single variety cocoa beans enhance the aromatic base profile of classic malt with cocoa middle notes, while also providing freshness via fruity and berry top notes.
The caramel-brown colour of Agrain® 05 lends a cacao-like darkness in baked goods.
